Friday / Pie Day
Ohhhhhhh, yes.
Ladies & Gents, it’s that time of year again: today is officially Pi Day. Or, as we like to call it in the food bloggosphere, Pie Day.
(March 14th = 3.14 = π = pi = pie. In case you needed help with the math/impeccable logic there.)
A few weeks ago, the movie Waitress was on TV and while watching it, I remembered the hilarious and heartbreaking names that the main character, Jenna, gives to her pies. She calls them things like “Pregnant Miserable Self Pitying Loser Pie” or “Marshmallow Mermaid Pie.” Actually, it’s a pretty lovely movie — you should probably go rent it in the spirit of Pie Day. (Or you could go do math or something similarly dreadful. The choice is yours.)
Anyway, in the spirit of Waitress, I’ve temporarily renamed all of my pies for you and linked to the originals. And should you ever want to learn about pie crust, both Smitten Kitchen and the Bojon Gourmet do a great 101. Looking for vegan pie? Here you are. Gluten-free pie? Just for you.
Happy Pie Day everyone!

Love you all. Thanks for being a source of constant ins-pie-ration! It’s been a slice! (Somebody please stop me.)

I love pie, but my mom nerver bakes pie. : )
I would stop you, but I’m trying to keep the piece.
Well, in case anyone ever wonders where I get it from, I can always direct them here.
